The cities India builds over the next twenty years will shape the country for the next hundred. Ashwinder R. Singh has spent twenty-five years working on exactly that problem — how capital flows into urban development, how policy enables or obstructs it, and how the institutions that build cities can be made more professional, more accountable and more enduring.

He is among the longest-serving CEOs of the Indian Real Estate industry and currently leads BCD Group as Vice Chairman, and co-founded BCD Royale, the group’s development arm. BCD City, a 70-acre integrated township in Bengaluru, is the current centrepiece of that work. Before BCD, he co-founded ANAROCK as its first CEO, served as CEO of JLL Residential India, and was CEO of Bhartiya Urban’s 150-acre integrated city development. His earlier career was built in structured finance across Citibank, Deutsche Bank, ICICI Bank and Bajaj Housing Finance — a foundation that shapes how he reads markets and evaluates capital decisions to this day.

He chairs the CII Real Estate Committee and has led policy delegations to the UAE, Singapore and the United Kingdom. He advises NAR-India and sits on the advisory boards of RICS SBE, Realty+ and Construction Week.

He has written three books on real estate, all of which reached number one on Amazon India — Master Residential Real Estate, Master Commercial Real Estate, and The A to Z of Residential Real Estate. They were written not to establish authority but to fill a gap — honest, practitioner-led resources that did not exist when he was learning the business himself.

He appears regularly as Chief Advisor on Republic Media Network’s real estate platform, mentors founders through IIT Bombay E-Cell and India Accelerator, and advises early-stage FinTech companies working at the intersection of property and capital.

His father was a decorated veteran of the 1971 war and a United Nations peacekeeping martyr. That fact sits at the foundation of everything — a reminder that the most meaningful work is done in service of something larger than oneself.
